BIO
I’m Marié, pronounced with Japanese vowel sounds, like mar-ee-ayy. You can even use the Japanese R, if you’re feeling fancy. I’m winging life in San Francisco.
I use songwriting for expression and catharsis, letting emotional truth guide my lyricism. I often explore themes of loss and yearning, whether of a specific experience or a global feeling that maybe life could have, or should have, been different somehow.
I blend soulful, powerful vocals with arrangement and performance that feel raw, gritty, and have structural intrigue. Lately my sonic inspirations include Radiohead, Matt Maeson, Hiatus Kaiyote, Hozier, and Lianne La Havas.
